The Color of Men's Shoes
There's an old adage about how often does someone really look at a man's shoes. Regardless of the answer, the right pair of shoes with the right fit are often a finishing touch to many outfits and styles. That means finding the right color and style is important for matching the occasion.
Black
Black shoes are generally the color of choice for formal wear. Most shoe lines have a black version, be they sneakers, loafers, or a sleek pair purchased with a suit. One of the more common shoe colors, finding them is easy enough since various styles in black can be found just about anywhere that sells shoes.
Brown
Brown shoes tend to be the color for loafers, which are far from formal wear. That said, dress styles of brown shoes are available. Just remember that brown is harder to pair in outfits than black shoes. When it comes to brown, darker brown is generally seen as a more formal, while lighter browns tend to be for more casual wear. Boots often come in lighter browns, for example.
White
White shoes are generally considered for casual use, which is why are commonly seen in regular day shoes, sneakers, and the like. That said, dress white shoes do exist, because white suits exist. So for those who prefer lighter colors, white is a perfectly viable option.
Tan
Tan shoes tend to be more casual and business casual. In general, darker colors are for more formal occasions, while lighter colors are for more daily use. Tan suits do exist, however, and a matching pair of shoes is a probably a good idea, as different colors would likely stand out too much for comfort.
Picking The Right Color And Style
Whether its black dress shoes for a formal party, casual day shoes for work, sneakers for the court, or slippers for home, finding the right style in the right color isn't hard. While most department stores have a shoe section, websites specializing in shoes not only tend to offer better selections, but better prices.
Still, with the right style and color in mind, finding the perfect shoes for any event is easy. Unfortunately, finding the right size remains a challenge, but at least it gets easier once the right shoe is discovered.
