Gold Jewelry Fashion

From the understated to the ostentatious, gold has made an appearance in almost anything we wear, from gold-laced threads in the garments of ancient royalty to exquisite touches on the earrings women wear every day. The pinnacle of wealth is often tied to gold jewelry in fashion; with lesser versions of a product (such as a watch or ring) being sold in metals such as sterling silver, while the deluxe versions are offered plated or made entirely of gold.

Premium gold jewelry, a must-have addition to any designer's fashion line, is well known for taking lavish advantage of that lovely glow in various forms. Gold jewelry uses the bright yellow metal as well as white gold and rose gold accents to entice and delight gold jewelry fans. Even when straying from the expensive metal itself, the color of gold is a constant that remains trendy, no matter where fads may stray.

Gold jewelry is a popular choice among consumers as it will not tarnish like silver or rub off like paint or enamel. While it is still a relatively soft metal, modern jewelry-making techniques ensure that gold rings, bracelets, necklaces and other adornments maintain both their beauty and durability, even when worn every day. Easy to clean and maintain, gold is the metal of choice for favorite and familiar items like wedding bands, thanks in part to its ability to withstand the demands of everyday wear.

A must-have for any modern man or woman, a few simple pieces of real gold jewelry go a very long way. Women ought to consider a small, simple earring - such as a ball or small hoop - as a way to upgrade any look, from jeans to a little black dress.

Men can look to a small-link necklace chain, ring, or gold-accented watch to do the same double-duty, no matter what they're wearing. Whatever style you choose, just make sure it isn't overly flashy or too outfit-specific; this will enable you to mix and match your clothing and jewelry effortlessly and not look too, "over the top."

Pearl Fashion

Pearls are that strange mix of natural uselessness and beauty intermingled. Formed from a piece of grit that a clam is trying to remove, they are highly coveted for their beauty, shape, and hue. They catch light in fascinating ways, and several of them together make for an astounding sight. Like many jewelry items, pearls, real ones at least, have gone into and out of fashion. Recently they're making a comeback, and, after taking a good look at them, it's not hard to see why.

Pearl Necklaces

One of the staples of pearl jewelry and fashion, the understated yet alluring color makes for a simple yet delightful addition to most ensembles. These necklaces are great for contrasting a black outfit or complimenting a lighter colored one. Like silver, they can be used either way, and in fact work quite well with the precious metal, too. Pearl necklaces are perfectly capable of standing out on their own, of course. They are perhaps the most obvious way to wear pearls, and, while they certainly look great in almost any outfit, they are not the only way to wear them

Pearl Earrings

Earrings are a little trickier. Generally, you want an understated but fashionable look, as having an entire dream catcher dangling from your ear can be considered a bit gaudy. As previously noted, pearls go well with darker and lighter colors, so you don’t need to worry about contrasting earrings with your hair color. Blond or black, it will look great. Redheads might have an issue, but a little contrast can be a good design choice, too. Since they're not as obvious as a necklace, silver or gold will work well as complimentary metals.

Pearl Rings

People don't generally think of rings when they think of pearls, but if you can make them into a necklace or an earring, there's no reason you can't make them into a regular ring. Just make sure not to overdo it, as too many rings look gaudy and overdone. A couple, though, is fine. If you want to fight tradition, pearl engagements rings are a fine idea.

Regular pearl rings make a great little touch to an outfit as well. Again, darker or lighter colors work well with pearls too. As for metal, silver works better hear, as rings are a bit more noticeable than earrings. Or at least, they should be. Besides, gold is so overdone that it's a good idea to let silver shine, and the lighter vibrancy will help the pearls stand out.

Though wearing pearls from ankle to ear might be a bit much, the use of a few, or a necklace, to compliment an outfit is a perfectly acceptable choice. With how versatile they are, capable of working with lighter and darker hues, as well as silver and even gold in some circumstances. There's also the practical matter that the economy means people are investing in precious metals, so pearls can sometimes be the cheaper option. Either way, they look great when done right.
